We have a wide range of stamps available from Europe and Colonies. The initial stamps marked with “Malta” were issued on 1 December 1860, featuring a portrait of Queen Victoria. For many years, these stamps were available solely in a ½d denomination, although various shades in the orange and yellow spectrum can be found. It was not until 1885 that additional designs and values were introduced. Similarly, the stamps of Cyprus are quite distinctive. The first stamps were British stamps overprinted with “CYPRUS,” which were released on 1 April 1880. Stamps specifically inscribed with “Cyprus” were issued on 1 July of the following year, also showcasing the portrait of Queen Victoria. Subsequent issues included depictions of King Edward VII and King George V; however, the definitive series released on 1 December 1934 was notable for omitting any royal portrait, instead featuring various sites of interest on the island. The first stamps of Gibraltar were also overprints, specifically on Bermuda stamps, and were made available on 1 January 1886.
